Aerobic Septic Systems Longview

What is an aerobic septic system? Also called aerobic treatment system (ATS), it is a small-scale sewage treatment system similar to a septic tank system. However, it uses an aerobic process rather than just the anaerobic process used in septic systems.

Benefits of Aerobic Septic System

Here are some situations in which aerobic septic systems would be appropriate for: When there is only a small lot to work with or poor soil quality for a septic system When there are groundwater quality concerns When a previous septic system has failed When the wastewater treatment requirements are high When the land is in a rural area with no public sewer system access The aerobic septic system a great alternative to the traditional septic systems. An aerobic Septic System or ATS (Aerobic treatment system) requires oxygen to treat wastewater in a natural process. Good bacteria that live in the oxygen-rich environment work to break down and digest the wastewater inside the aerobic treatment unit. An aerobic treatment system is basically a small-scale sewage plant. All About Maintenance has highly trained technicians who specialize in the required maintenance of aerobic treatment systems. The aerobic system is different from the traditional septic systems in that it pumps oxygen into the tank, which increases the natural bacterial consumption of waste within the system. However, there are other differences between the two. In a traditional model, a building’s wastewater will enter a tank from the main line. Most tanks have two compartments. After the wastewater enters the tank, it will divide into 3 layers. Grease and toilet paper and other buoyant materials will rise to the top; dense materials will sink to the bottom, and the liquid in the middle is known “effluent”. That means it moves from one chamber to the next, and finally flows into an underground absorption field, also known as a leach field. The aerobic system begins the process the same, with the wastewater entering the tank and then separating into layers. The “effluent” flows into an aeration area. Then an air pump adds oxygen to the effluent, which then moves into a chlorination area.
